From The Fire,
An exhibition that brings together a selection of artworks made by people who experienced the Black Saturday bushfires in 2009.  This exhibition captures the destruction wraught by the fires

and the emotional aftermath, with a focus on the psychological impacts of such trauma.

This exhibition brings together a range of works that consider acts of gender-based violence. Through images that reflect upon the origin of abuse, the psychology of violence and the aftermath of aggression, the artists explore a broad range of topics that surround this topic. Curated by Maroondah Art Gallery the exhibition coincides with a community forum on the prevention of violence against women organised by Women’s Health East. Julie has her oil painting Comfort Zone in this exhibition.
